Alain Jaume 'La Butte d’Or', Saint Joseph 2021
From the south of the appellation, this St Joseph is a blend of two wines from vines on hillsides facing East and South-East. Manual harvesting, selection of healthy and ripe grapes. Total scraping. Pre-fermentation cold maceration 5 to 6 days. Aged in oak barrels with 10% new barrels. On the nose, this wine reveals scents of pepper and jammy red fruits. In the mouth, it is balanced, ample and intense, offering in its long finish a very good quality of tannins. A wine of character, always in the making for aging for 6 to 8 years.
