Château Jamard Belcour, Lussac Saint-Émilion 2018
Deep dark cherries’ color. Lively, fresh, round & fruity nose on redcurrant & blueberries. Full, supple, elegant and generous palate with crumble and blackberries, keeping freshness of the fruit, on silky and subtle length, with flavorful, soft tannins.
Blend: 90% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc

I loved the nose on the 2018 Château Jamard Belcour, including its classic Right Bank red and black fruits, chalky minerality, chocolate, and cedar pencil aromatics. These carry to a medium-bodied, beautifully balanced, elegant, seamless red that shines on all accounts. I'd be thrilled with a bottle on the dinner table, and while it's drinking great today, I see no reason it shouldn't keep for at least 7-8 years.

The Despagne family owns three estates in the area. Based on four parcels, this wine comes from a mix of clay and chalk soils. It is a richly textured wine, based on Merlot and finely textured. Rich, packed with black fruits, it will be ready from 2024.
